Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver. – Barbara de Angelis

There are a lot of reasons to be down: the flu, the economy, the weather, or maybe a person.  So I thought it be great to take a step back and just think of the most thoughtful things in this world. I’m listing ten (10) for a perfectly nice start to the week.

  1. Getting asked sincerely how you are.
  2. An unexpected little gift.  A friend of mine tasted this piece of bread and she loved it a lot. She thought I’d like it and bought me a piece. Who needs an occasion to give or receive?
  3. Preparing a little feast for a family or friend on their birthday.
  4. Sending a text message thanking people for hanging out with you last night.
  5. Slipping an uplifting note to someone who seems down in the slump.
  6. Sending a card to a friend a thousand miles away. Sending them an e-mail greeting is great, but wouldn’t it be nice to send them a real card at least once. There’s nothing warmer than a well picked card and a familiar person’s handwriting.
  7. Someone buying you a cup of coffee or offering you a cup of coffee.  (Or maybe you offer them a cup of coffee.)
  8. Sending someone an ‘I hope you have a good day’ email or text message.
  9. Waking up to a ready breakfast table.
  10. Someone buying you cough medicine upon hearing you cough.

I’m sure there are a whole lot of things we’ve experienced that prove people can be thoughtful in this world. It is sometime hard to recall because the most thoughtful of moments are quiet and unnoticeable, but if we took the time to sit and remember you’d probably come up with ten too.
